What Are the Most Useful Solutions or Services People Are Offering in Support of Those Impacted by COVID-19?
This Challenge is asking Solvers to share detailed examples of any solutions or services they have seen offered by individuals or companies in response to the global Coronavirus pandemic. We have been impressed with how the world has rallied together to bring solutions that can impact globally, nationally, and locally in all manner of ways. Yet there is not a single consolidated source of this valuable information and we want to bridge this gap.
Calling All Solvers: A Chance to Post a COVID-19 Challenge at No Cost
Do you have an idea for the basis of an InnoCentive Challenge? We want to harness the creativity of our Solvers and ask you to propose a COVID-19 Challenge that could help mitigate this global outbreak.
This is an Ideation Challenge with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.
Targeted Delivery and Screening of Lipid Nanoparticles
The Seeker is a leading global research & development company that is searching for a partner to generate libraries of lipid nanoparticles for the targeted delivery and screening of nucleic acids. The goal is to improve the therapeutic index while reducing unwanted side effects in translational disease models.
This is an electronic Request-for-Partners (eRFP) Challenge; the Solver will only need to submit a written proposal to be evaluated by the Seeker with the goal of establishing a collaborative partnership.
What Should We Know to Better Treat Coronavirus?
This Challenge is asking InnoCentive Solvers to formulate well-defined problems aimed at advancing our knowledge about Coronavirus. One could think of this as what might we have known that would have allowed us to respond more effectively against COVID-19.
This is an Ideation Challenge run by InnoCentive as Seeker with a guaranteed award for at least one submitted solution.
Diminishing the Transmission of COVID-19
COVID-19 is readily transmitted via respiratory droplets and we now know that the virus is extremely contagious. Besides physical distancing and improved hygiene (e.g. thorough hand washing), we want to know if you are practicing some behaviors that are NOT widely communicated.
This is an Ideation Challenge.
Frontier Tech 4 COVID Action: Ventilation Systems
Hospitals around the world are grappling with COVID-19. Key to this challenge is making sure our hospitals have the equipment to treat people with respiratory problems.
In this context ventilators are pivotal pieces of medical equipment. But there aren't enough ventilators for the projected number of people who may become ill.
While engineering firms could consider switching some manufacturing to help ramp production of the vital equipment, state of the art ventilators will still take too long to manufacture. That’s why we’re looking to emerging markets for Rapidly Manufactured Ventilation Systems (RMVS). These designs will then be shared with the world to support the fight against COVID-19.
Novo Nordisk Challenge: Identifying Protective Gene Combinations
According to the World Health Organization in 2016, more than 1.9 billion adults were overweight and 650 million were obese. People who are overweight or obese are predisposed to developing metabolic diseases and have an increased risk of mortality. Although diet and physical activity have a direct effect upon weight, genetic factors can also play a role. Therefore, Novo Nordisk is looking to identify gene combinations that may provide protection from obesity and associated metabolic disorders.
Producing Glass Wool and Insulating Building Materials from Wind Turbine Blades
Enel Green Power (EGP) is looking for sustainable and economical processes to produce glass wool and insulating building materials by recycling wind turbine blades. EGP is the leader in the renewable energy sector and operates in Europe, Americas, Asia, Oceania and Africa.
Technologies to Create Smarter Structures For Vehicles
Metalsa designs and manufactures structural solutions for the mobility industry (light & commercial vehicles), including highly engineered chassis frames for pick-up trucks, which provide body-on-frame vehicles with towing, loading and off-roading capabilities and side rails for heavy trucks made to contribute with their durability and strength to carry high loads.
To empower users to make better decisions, Metalsa is looking for collaboration partners to propose technologies able to detect and report different variables and to provide crucial data from the vehicles to their user in order to inform, alert and record about the usage of their vehicle.
The ability to provide live feedback of the conditions of the chassis structure will minimize the cost of repairs and maintenance and will serve the user with a better sense on how to maximize the life span of the vehicle.
Next Generation Cell Retention for High Cell Density Upstream Bioprocesses
The further intensification of bioprocesses can continue to drive to lower cost solutions by providing smaller footprint processes with higher productivity. The Seeker desires a unique solution to generate high cell density cultures (>200 million cells/mL), while maintaining high cell viability and avoiding the product sieving & fouling effects associated with current approaches.
